COLOSTADIUM

Pokémon Colosseum Mt. Battle AREA 10

Whether you're visiting AREA 10 for the first time on your way to victory or using it as a training ground for raising your Pokémon to higher levels, I hope you find the information below useful. Interestingly, none of these Pokémon use hold items (either that or Thief is broken in this game).

FUN OLD MAN

091 - FUN OLD MAN TANDO

Old TANDO likes to start things out with a Sandstorm, but other than raising Cacturne's evasiveness, there's really not much going on here. With a Ground based team and no Earthquake action in sight, it's a wonder he made it into AREA 10.

to rise this high!

Defeat:
A worthy trainer you are!

Outro:
There are just nine ZONES
to go.
Don't falter!

FUN OLD LADY

092 - FUN OLD LADY PANNE

A Poison type team that isn't really about poisoning. There's no Toxic + Protect type strategy going on here. Basically, PANNE is obsessed with using Sludge Bomb whenever feasible. When it isn't the best choice, she'll reluctantly fall back on the other options in her move pool.

Outro:
Just eight ZONES left.
Don't lose your focus.

RICH BOY

093 - RICH BOY QUINT

There's not much to say about this battle. Grumpig puts on its Magic Coat and things progress normally. Aside from relying solely on Psychic type Pokémon, QUINT manages to present a decently balanced team. Always be mindful of Explosion, of course.

See?
I told you it was impossible.

Defeat:
Knocked down and out!

Outro:
Hmm...
I thought I was tougher than you.

LADY

094 - LADY KOWLY

It's rare that little KOWLY doesn't start out with both her Pokémon using Sunny Day as their inital move, so if you don't knock out one or the other in the first turn, you get a free hit. Her whole plan is to spam Solar Beam without the charge time, and she's so confident in this plan that she didn't bother rounding out full movesets for three of her Pokémon! Incidentally, the Solar Beam PP on her party is maxed.
Castform
L60 Castform M Item: -----
Sunny Day, Solar Beam, Weather Ball, Ice Beam
Sunflora
L60 Sunflora F Item: -----

that you've come so far.
But that doesn't mean I will ease up
on you!

Victory:
Hohoho.
I feel badly for you.

Defeat:
Ho... Hohoho!

Outro:
That was a most wonderful
battle.
There remain but six ZONES.
I wish you the best of luck.

ATHLETE

095 - ATHLETE CRISOM

CRISOM manages to put together a pretty strong Water offensive. Mantine will almost always rush to whip out Rain Dance, which will up its speed (and some of its teammates) thanks to its Swift Swim ability. Rain Dance will also power up the strength of their Water attacks so if you aren't equipped with powerful Electric or Grass types, do beware.
Mantine
L60 Mantine M Item: -----
Rain Dance, Hydro Pump, Blizzard, Aerial Ace
Seaking

Victory:
You were complacent!

Defeat:
Ooh, well done!

Outro:
You're not bad at all!
We had a good battle.
Thanks!

ATHLETE

096 - ATHLETE RAUS

Electrode is one of the fastest Pokémon out there, so watch out. It's paired with a Ghost type to start with, which means it can use Explosion without hurting its teammate. If you knock out Misdreavus straight away, Explosion will faint Ninetales. On the other hand if Electrode is KO'd first, Misdreavus will want to use its Hidden Power Fire to hit Ninetales for a Flash Fire boost.
Electrode

You're lacking a little
something, I'd say.

Defeat:
Burnt out!

Outro:
I think you can go all the way
to the end!

COOLTRAINER

097 - COOLTRAINER TRILO

A well-rounded team, that's what TRILO has. Varied types, high evolutions, and powerful moves aplenty. These final battles of AREA 10 aren't playing around with strategies so much--they're out to win, pure and simple. If possible take advantage of the fact that the trainers always seem send out their Pokémon in the prespecified order.

you are!

Defeat:
Urk!

Outro:
Your skills appear to be real.
Just three ZONES left.
Go!

COOLTRAINER

098 - COOLTRAINER LOMEN

Another trainer bringing an evolved starter trio to the table, along with some strong support and a good array of moves. Watch out for Sceptile's exceptional speed and sudden Hyper Beams.

Defeat:
It was I who fell!

Outro:
Now, go on.
There are only two ZONES left!
Throw your all into it!

TEACHER

099 - TEACHER NACIE

Mt. Battle's semi-final match is against NACIE, another well balanced team. Her most potentially lethal weapon is Shedinja, thanks to its Wonder Guard ability. It's easy enough to deal with, but if her other Pokémon happen to KO the ones you needed to do so, it's possible to find yourself literally unable to continue the fight.
Crawdaunt

ranks to be here!
You're more excellent than my pupils! +
Now, show me an excellent
battle!

Victory:
Oh, how disappointing!

Defeat:
Excellent!

Outro:
Okay!
Finally, there's just one ZONE left. +
Hang tough!

MT.BTLMASTER

100 - MT.BTLMASTER SOMEK

Finally, a trainer with a full party of six! SOMEK's strategy is a pretty good one, Earthquake! Five of his Pokémon have it and five of them are Flying types and Levitaters so they won't hit each other. You'll have a far easier time if you also have Pokémon that can avoid Ground hits, but be prepared for SOMEK's collection of strong backup options.

your training.
Don't hold anything back!

Oh, close!
So tantalizingly close!

Defeat:
Stupendous!

Outro:
This is fantastic!
I say fantastic!
You had to be to defeat me! +
Congratulations!
But don't be content with this.
Don't neglect your training!
